The campaign, which has already captured hearts through a powerful TV advert based on real-life hospice stories, calls on people across the country to consider leaving a gift in their Will to their local hospice.

These gifts help secure the future of hospice care, ensuring that hospice care charities like ours can continue to provide expert, compassionate support for generations to come.

Gifts in Wills are vital for future care

One in seven of the people we support are cared for thanks to gifts in Wills. With demand for hospice care continuing to rise, these gifts are more vital than ever. Every day, it costs £17,000 to provide our services which are free of charge to patients, yet only 14% of our income comes from statutory sources. Gifts in Wills help bridge this funding gap, ensuring care can continue long into the future.

Pat’s story: a legacy of compassion

For many, leaving a gift in their Will is a continuation of their life’s values. Pat, from Wendover, was a nurse all her life and later volunteered with our bereavement team. She chose to carry that compassion forward by leaving a gift to the charity in her Will, ensuring her values lived on.

 

Her son, Martin, says:

“Mum had a very caring nature – she was so kind and compassionate to everybody she knew. Nursing was the perfect profession for her. So it was no surprise to us that she had chosen to continue caring for others by leaving a gift in her Will. Rennie Grove Peace was a natural choice for Mum as the charity aligns with her values and beliefs. My brother, Mark, and I were proud to execute Mum’s Will and make the gift to the charity as we know it will enable Mum’s caring nature to live on.”
