Compassionate Communities Group Volunteers are trained local people who offer their companionship, time, social and emotional support to people towards the end of life due to age or illness and/or people who are suffering with a loss, in a group setting like a Compassionate Support Hub and/or Compassionate Café.

They are ambassadors for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care in their local communities and are committed to the Compassionate Neighbours social movement to help reduce loneliness and social isolation.

All volunteers take part in a structured training programme. Once completed they are asked to support a local Compassionate Support Hub and/or Compassionate Café.

In particular we need volunteers in:

  • North Watford (Meriden and Leavesden area)
  • Great Missenden
  • Amersham
  • Hemel Hempstead

All our training days run from 9.30am to 4.30 pm, and the next dates are:

  • Friday 8th December at Peace Hospice, Watford
  • Friday 26th January at Grove House, St Albans
  • Thursday 7th March at Peace Hospice, Watford
  • Friday 19th April at Grove House, St Albans
  • Thursday 30th May at Peace Hospice, Watford
