Explore the beautiful gardens of Winchmore Hill

Winchmore Hill is lively village situated between Amersham and Beaconsfield. If you are looking for a range of gardens, Winchmore Hill is the place to come.

This year, the highlights will once again be Hertfordshire House, with its magnificent walled garden, wildflowers, maze and rolling views and the Penn House Estate with its historical Penn House, and the varied gardens including a gorgeous rose garden and a range of established trees. Other gardens range from manicured to cottage to African, and some are front gardens only. The village wildflower area and the allotments will also be manned.

The Open Gardens starts and finishes at the memorial hall where there will be a number of stalls and scrummy refreshments on sale.

Admission by programme only which cost £5 per person, Under 16s free.  Programmes are available to by on the day from Winchmore Hill Memorial Hall (there are no advanced ticket sales for this event).

Enjoy a rare opportunity to relax and stroll around these picturesque gardens. All proceeds will be used to help fund essential services that support patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Tickets are £5 per person (under 16s go free) and can be bought on the day from the Memorial Hall.

There’s no need to buy tickets in advance, simply turn up at the memorial village to buy your programme, this will then give you access to all the gardens that are open on the day.

We’ll accept cash or card payments on arrival.

There will be approximately 13 gardens opening on the day. All gardens are unique with a range of charming village gardens to the garden of Hertfordshire House.

Absolutely! At the memorial hall there’ll be hot drinks and home made cakes available on the day. So, don’t forget your purse if you want to quench your thirst!

There will also be a number of stalls selling goods on the day.

Make sure you pop along to the allotments and see what plants they have for sale!

Winchmore Hill can be approached from three main directions, some of the roads are narrow with passing places. The Memorial Hall is right in the middle of the village on the common and will be highlighted with bunting, as will all gardens – please park considerately.

Local transportation will be available to taxi people to the different gardens.
