We’re urgently recruiting for healthcare assistants to join our Rapid Personalised Care Service (RPCS) team. In this vital role, you’ll visit patients in their own homes to provide personalised care and support. No previous experience is needed – we’re looking for compassionate individuals with a caring nature and a genuine desire to help others. Training will be provided, giving you the opportunity to build your skills and grow your career in care.

Provide support for patients and their families
You will be there to provide physical and emotional support to patients and their families. Your role will include:
- Washing, dressing, nutrition and skincare
- Spending time talking to patients and their families – our healthcare assistants are given the time they need to provide the personalised care a patient and their family need, whether this is sitting having a cuppa with them or helping with a crossword.
What is Rapid Personalised Care Service (RPCS)?
Rapid Personalised Care Service is a 12-week service for patients living in their own home, who are in the last 12 weeks of life. Our team will visit patients up to 4 times a day in four time slots: morning, lunchtime, teatime and bedtime, helping them and their family feel as comfortable as possible.

What you'll need for this role

A caring nature Training is provided for this role, as long as you have a caring nature and a passion to help people no prior experience is necessary

Driver's licence Visits are mainly provided by two carers, but there are times when you will visit alone, so you must have access to your own car.

Able to commit a minimum of 23 hours per week Whilst we are flexible with shift patterns, we do ask you can commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week. We do not sponsor for the role and cannot progress applicants sponsored by another employee.

Previous experience in a care setting is helpful, but we welcome anyone with a caring nature who is looking to start their healthcare career. We will provide full training and support so that you are well equipped with the skills you need to talk to a patient and their family.
You must have a valid UK driver’s licence and able to commit to a minimum of 23 hours per week.
You must also have a valid visa to work in the UK.
You’ll be supporting people living with a life-limiting illness who are in the last 12 weeks of life. This includes providing care in line with individual needs, wishes, and dignity. Typical tasks include helping with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting), repositioning for comfort, offering emotional support, monitoring wellbeing, and assisting with meals or drinks. You may also provide support to families and carers.
The starting salary for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant is from £24,625 – £25,674 per annum (pro rata) which aligns with the NHS bands. You will also receive milage when travelling to a patients home.
Yes – many HCAs go on to complete further qualifications, move into nursing, or take on more specialist roles within palliative care.
We offer regular supervision, training, and peer support. Wellbeing support is available to help you manage the emotional aspects of the role.
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, doctors, therapists, and volunteers. In the community, you may sometimes work alone during visits but are always supported by the wider team.
Hospice care is more focused on comfort and quality of life rather than curative treatment. There’s more time to spend with each person, and a strong emphasis on emotional and spiritual support alongside physical care.
