What is Make Your Will Month?
Our annual Will-writing campaign sees local solicitors offer appointments for people to write or update their Will, free of charge. The participating solicitors waive their basic Will-writing fee in return for a donation to Rennie Grove Peace. Participants are asked to make a suggested minimum donation of £200 for a single Will, or £300 for a pair of mirror Wills.
This year’s event comes hot-on-the-heels of a national campaign to encourage gifts in Wills, called This is Hospice Care. We have been working together with Hospice UK and other hospices across the country to highlight the reality and breadth of hospice care and encourage people to consider leaving a gift in their Will to their local hospice, to help hospice care live on.
Why you should participate:
“Taking part in our Make Your Will Month campaign is a great way to ensure you have a Will in place and your own affairs in order. Once loved ones have been considered, solicitors will also be able to advise on how to leave a gift to Rennie Grove Peace if you wish to do so, helping us to ensure that hospice care can live on for future generations.
In the last year, gifts in Wills accounted for more than 20% of our income. This support is absolutely vital to ensure we can continue delivering our services in the future. This Make Your Will Month we’re encouraging everybody to consider whether they could leave a gift in their Will to support our work.”
“I can’t praise the Rennie Grove Peace team enough for what they did for David, and our whole family, during his illness. It was a relief to know that support was available from the point of diagnosis and that we could rely on the team as his condition deteriorated.
I want to make sure that other families can access this crucial support when they need it, now and in the future. I have decided to pledge a gift to Rennie Grove Peace in my will to help the charity continue its vital work for generations to come.”
