What is the London to Brighton cycle ride?
The London to Brighton Cycle Ride is an iconic 55 mile cycle ride starting from Clapham Common in South London, to the seaside town of Brighton. This fantastic challenge is perfect for solo cyclists, groups and all levels of riders – the event is complete with plenty of water stops, roaming mechanical and medical support plus an incredible atmosphere of positivity and challenge.
The route offers picturesque views, from the bustling streets of London to the rolling countryside of Surrey and Sussex, ending at the beautiful Brighton seafront. Join like-minded cyclists and supporters, all united by a shared goal of making a difference.

By joining the London to Brighton Cycle Ride, we ask you to commit to raising £534. This could cover the cost of two nights of care from a member of our overnight team, in our Inpatient Unit or in a patient’s home, to provide care and support at any time of the night, ensuring nobody feels alone.

Where and when
Sunday 14 September 2025
The ride will start from Clapham Common, off Nightingale Walk, Clapham SW4 9AH. There will be a staggered start between 06:00-10:30. Participants will be emailed their allocated start time a few weeks before the event.
The route will finish at the Brighton Seafront on Madeira Drive, a 500m walk from the Pier.
The minimum age is 16, however, anyone aged 16 or 17 must have a parental consent form.
The London to Brighton Cycle Ride is organised by Skyline Events. For the last 30+ years, Skyline has become one of the UK’s largest organisers of charity fundraising events, working with over 3,000 charities and raising more than £150 million.
Signing up and sponsorship
Please complete our registration form and a member of our fundraising team will be in touch to answer any questions you have and help you complete your registration.
Spaces are limited so we recommend registering your interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
The cost of the cycle ride is £55, and we ask that you commit to raise £534 in sponsorship. Our fundraising team will be on hand to support your fundraising, so please get in touch if you have any questions.
We ask that all our cyclists raise £534 in sponsorship, which could cover the cost of two nights of care from a member of our overnight team, in our Inpatient Unit/in a patient’s home, to provide care and support at any time of the night, ensuring nobody feels alone.

On the day
The route is clearly waymarked by directional event arrows. They are put on all turns, and along straight roads for reassurance.
It is strongly recommended you also download the route using the link in your participant area so that you can follow the route on your favourite GPS device. (You will be able to access the participant area once you have signed up).
There will be a full support crew as well as medics and mechanics – full details will be provided when you sign up for the event.
Free water will be available at various water stops, which will be at 17 miles, 30 miles, 39 miles, and 48 miles, at the top of the infamous Ditchling Beacon. In addition, snacks will be provided at the 30-mile stop and a packed lunch at the finish line.
There will be portable toilets at the start, at water stops, and at the finish in Brighton.
A bike and coach transfer from Brighton back to the start on Clapham Common is offered. Once you are signed up, you’ll be sent a link to book a place. Places are limited for this service and do sell out so worth booking in good time.
