What is the Accumulator Challenge?

Our Accumulator Challenge is a fun and impactful fundraising initiative that empowers students to raise money for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care while developing teamwork, creativity and entrepreneurial skills.

Each participating team uses £30 seed money provided by the school. Using this initial amount, students work together to multiply the funds through a range of fundraising activities such as bake sales, competitions, non-uniform days, concerts and more.

At the end of the challenge, all the money raised is donated directly to Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care to support our vital work in providing care and support to local patients and families.

Ways to fundraise

Colours of Rennie Grove Peace
Wear something pink, purple or blue for Rennie Grove Peace and donate £1 per student

Bake sale
Use the £30 to buy ingredients and put your baking skills to the test

Car wash
Use the £30 to purchase cleaning products and wash teachers’ cars

Movie night
Purchase snacks with the seed money and host a movie night in the school hall

Sports challenge
Students vs teachers sports competition – ask participants to pay to play and spectators to pay to watch

Think outside the box. Put your business hat on and challenge yourself to host a unique event or activity.

SPEEN Helping Hospices invite you to their annual Charity Comedy night to as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations at the Lacey Green Millenium Hall.

It’s back by popular demand – get your tickets for £20 for a great evening of comedy.

Doors and the bar are open from 7pm, with the show beginning at 8pm.

Time to put the kettle on for local hospice care

Gather friends, family, neighbours or colleagues for tea, coffee and cake, while raising vital funds for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care.

Host your Time for Tea at home, work, school or in your community. Bake it, buy it or ask everyone to bring something. You can keep it simple or go big.

We’d love you to take part during Hospice Care Week, from 5 to 11 October, but you can choose any date that works for you.

Get your free host pack, including invitations, decorations, cake toppers and a quiz to help make your event a success.

To mark Hospice Care Week, the Odyssey Cinema in St Albans will be celebrating local hospice care providers, Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care and the Hospice of St Francis, with a special charity screening of the 1978 favourite ‘Grease’. Attendees are encouraged to dress up and have fun! Tickets include a glass of fizz and a sweet treat from Amy’s Bakery. All proceeds will be split between the two local hospice charities. You can even buy your pink ladies gear and Grease-inspired clothing in your local St Albans Rennie Grove Peace charity shop!

Bring some festive fun to your school with the Rudolph Run!

Encourage students to put on their favourite Christmas jumpers and take part in a sponsored Rudolph Run. This event is a fantastic way to get children active while raising vital funds for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care. Schools can organise the run or walk in a way that works best for them, choosing the distance, route, timing and format. Whether it’s a few laps of the playground or a walk around the local community, the event can be tailored to all.

With fundraising resources, certificates and festive activities provided, signing up is an easy and enjoyable way to spread Christmas cheer while supporting an important cause.
