Sustainable September
Date: September 2026
What’s on: Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care is bringing back Sustainable September and encouraging local people to shop, donate and dress more sustainably throughout the month. The charity is calling on supporters to clear out their wardrobes and donate quality pre-loved items to their local Rennie Grove Peace shop, while also embracing second-hand fashion by purchasing clothes at Rennie Grove Peace charity shops. Every donation of quality items for sale makes a difference, funding expert hospice care for local people facing progressive life-limiting illnesses. During September, for every bag of donated goods taken to a Rennie Grove Peace shop, you will receive a stamp on the Rennie Grove Peace Loyalty Card. Once the card is full, you can enjoy £5 off your next purchase at any Rennie Grove Peace shop.
Compassionate Café in Harpenden
Date: Starting 8 September 2026, 10.30am-12pm, on the second Tuesday of each month
What’s on: Rennie Grove Peace is relaunching its Compassionate Café in Harpenden. Compassionate Cafés are drop-in sessions which provide a space for members of the local community who have been affected by bereavement and would like to come along for a friendly chat and a chance to meet others over a cup of tea.

Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge
Date: 20 September 2026
What’s on: Join us for the annual Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge. This is a family (and dog!) friendly event in the scenic Chiltern Hills – a fantastic day out for adventurers of any age who enjoy walking and can comfortably cover a minimum of 7 miles. With routes ranging from 7 to 18.5 miles, walkers will enjoy breathtaking views whilst raising vital funds for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care.
CompassionART Café at Grove House
Date: Starting 25 September 2026, 2.00pm–3.30pm, on the last Friday of each month
What’s on: Rennie Grove Peace is launching a new CompassionART Café at Grove House in St Albans. CompassionART Cafés are drop-in sessions which are open to anyone who may be feeling lonely due to illness or bereavement, where attendees can enjoy free arts and crafts activities and connect with others over a cuppa in a friendly, welcoming environment. Carers, family members, and friends are also welcome.

Time for Tea
Date: throughout October 2026.
What’s on: Rennie Grove Peace is inviting people to put the kettle on and host a coffee morning, tea party or workplace get-together as part of its Time for Tea event to raise vital funds for local hospice care. This is a great opportunity to gather friends, family, neighbours or colleagues over tea, coffee and cake, and make a real difference to local people who need hospice care and bereavement support. Whether your event is big or small, every tea shared and every donation raised helps Rennie Grove Peace continue to provide expert care and support when it’s needed most.
Hospice Care Week
Dates: 5-11 October 2026
What’s on: With Hospice Care Week coming up in October, Rennie Grove Peace is encouraging people not to leave hospice care to chance, and to take the opportunity to learn about the important work that hospices do, as well as to donate and help to protect local hospice care. Throughout the week, Rennie Grove Peace will be hosting a number of events to mark the occasion, including a charity film screening at the Odyssey Cinema in St Albans on 8 October, an Advance Care Planning event in Harpenden on 8 October, and more events soon to be announced.
Firewalk
Date: 12 November 2026
What’s on: Rennie Grove Peace has announced that its popular Firewalk fundraiser will return for 2026. Take on an exhilarating challenge and walk across hot coals while raising money for local hospice care. Every step helps fund vital hospice care services for patients and their families in the local community. Tickets are available now, with the event itself taking place on 12 November 2026.

| Taylor Trek 2026 | Vicarage Road Stadium, Vicarage Road, Watford, WD18 0ER | Sunday 4 October 2026, 8am | The Taylor Trek unites Watford FC fans, legends, families, and supporters to honour Graham Taylor’s legacy for the fifth year running, while raising money for two local charities. Participants will walk around Watford, explore key sites from Hornets history, and cross the finish line at Vicarage Road Stadium. | Walk with friends, family, or fellow Watford fans, with a choice of routes ranging from 3.5 miles to 18 miles.
