Statement on Assisted Dying

Our statement

Assisted dying is a complex subject which raises challenging ethical questions for hospice care. Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care recognises that across society there are a range of different views, and we respect the right of everyone to take an individual position. It is our view that the question of whether there should be a change in the law is one for society to consider and for the parliaments and assemblies across the UK to decide.

Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care supports people with life limiting illness, their families, and carers to live as well as possible for as long as possible. We also provide palliative nursing, medical and personal care to those at the end of their life.

When diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, questions and concerns regarding the future often arise, we support people through such discussions, providing information regarding someone’s illness and the support available to them. Access to our services is open to all who meet our referral criteria regardless of their view on this subject.
