One-to-one emotional support for children and young people

We provide one-to-one emotional support for children and young people aged five to 18 who are experiencing bereavement or pre-bereavement. Pre-bereavement support helps children understand and cope when someone important in their life has a life-limiting illness, before a death has occurred.

One-to-one emotional support for children and young people

What support looks like

We offer a safe, supportive space where children and young people can talk about their feelings, worries and experiences at their own pace.

Our trained bereavement listeners and counsellors help them begin to make sense of loss or serious illness.

Sessions are tailored to each individual and may include creative activities to support expression in ways that feel natural and comfortable.

Sessions last 40 to 50 minutes in a calm, welcoming environment.

Children can share as much or as little as they wish, and we work closely with parents and carers to ensure they feel supported throughout.

Where is it? Sessions are typically held in a calm and welcoming setting.

Who is it for? Children and young people aged 5 to 18 who are coping with bereavement or are affected by someone with a life-limiting illness. Available to family members or close friends of Rennie Grove Peace patients.
