Could you take to the dance floor for Rennie Grove Peace?

We are looking for 30 keen contestants with a passion for dance who are keen to learn new skills and have fun all whilst raising money to support vital hospice care across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.   

Whether you already know your foxtrot from your quickstep or you’ve never danced a day in your life, this exciting experience is open to everybody.  Contestants will receive 10 weeks of free professional dance tuition to learn two routines to perform at a grand finale performance to be held on Friday 24 January 2025.

On the night, one pair of dancers will walk away with the coveted Strictly Come Hospice trophy! 

Every day we need to raise over £17,000 just to keep our vital services running

Strictly Come Hospice is a brand new event in our fundraising calendar and we hope that as well as raising money for Rennie Grove Peace, you will also have a once in a lifetime experience to tick off your bucket list!

There is a registration fee of £30 for each contestant on confirmation of their place.  We are then asking each contestant to raise £600 in sponsorship and encouraging you to sell at least five tickets to the grand finale on Friday 24 January 2025.

Every penny raised through sponsorship and sales of tickets will be used to fund vital hospice care in our community.

Strictly Come Hospice – how will it work?

If your application is successful and you are chosen as a participant you will receive 10 weeks of free professional dance tuition. These sessions will be taught by professional dance teachers, Chris Scott and his dance partner, Niamh Creedon-Wilkes. 

Strictly Come Hospice – training sessions

All training sessions take place on a Tuesday at 7pm and will last for 2 hours – please note you must be available for all of the above training sessions. The dates are as follows:

12th & 19th November
3rd & 10th December

7th, 14th & 21st January

Couples will learn two dances for the grand finale on Friday 24 January 2025 and the winners will be decided by a combination of judges scores and a live audience vote.  The winners will receive the honour of being Strictly Come Hospice champions 2025 along with our coveted trophy!

Applying to Strictly Come Hospice

We welcome applications from anyone aged 18 and over – no experience necessary!!

Yes! If you register with a partner, you will be paired up together.

Of course! If you are selected as a participant you will be paired up with another contestant.

Training

Training will be held at:

Rickmansworth School, WD3 3AQ

 

There will be ten 2 hour training sessions, held on a Tuesday at 7pm on the following dates:

8th October 2024

15 October 2024

12 November 2024

19 November 2024

3 December 2024

10 December 2024

7 January 2025

14 January 2025

21 January 2025

Participants must be able to commit to each of the above training sessions.

Yes – contestants will receive 10 weeks of free professional dance tuition. These sessions will be taught by Chris Scott and his dance partner, Niamh Creedon-Wilkes. Chris and Niamh started dancing together 14 years ago at Moonglow Studios in Watford. Over the years they have completed in many amateur competitions, danced at Winter Gardens and performed on stage for numerous occasions (Glen Miller band, Music videos, and several other charity events). They primarily teach Ballroom & Latin, Salsa, and Argentine Tango.

Once all of the participants have been confirmed, the dances will be decided by the trainers depending on which suit the group best. 

Fundraising

The grand finale of Strictly Come Hospice will be held on Friday 24 January 2025.
