Who are our trustees?
Our board of trustees comprises specialists in different sectors, from healthcare to marketing to business development and retail. They offer advice and approve big decisions such as our annual expenditure and income targets. Similarly, trustees contribute to our three-year strategic plan.
Dr Jeremy Shindler
Chair of Trustees
Jeremy is a retired GP who has had, for over thirty years, a special interest in palliative medicine and in particular supporting people to remain in their own homes. Since 2000 he worked with Peace Hospice Care first as a clinician, a trustee since 2018 and Chair from 2020 until the date of merger. Being a trustee is a privilege that enables him to continue to support the philosophy of holistic care at the end of life.
Chris Inman OBE
Vice Chair of Trustees
Chris is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 30 years' experience in the Retail Fashion Industry. He joined Rennie Grove Peace (formerly Rennie Grove) as a trustee in 2016 and was Vice Chair from 2018. Chris spent a decade at the Arcadia Group in senior finance roles before leading a successful management buy-out of four Arcadia brands in 2001. He has since supported several start-up businesses in fashion and technology as a non-exec director and served for 9 years as non-executive treasurer on the Board of the British Fashion Council. In 2012, Chris received an OBE for his contributions to the British Fashion Industry. He enjoys golf, travel, and theatre in his free time.
John Wroe
Honorary Treasurer
John is a retired Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Throughout his career, he held several senior finance positions in public companies, including 28 years at BT Group plc, where he served as Group Financial Controller and Group Treasurer. Since 2017, John has been a trustee for Rennie Grove Hospice Care, and he believes that his extensive experience in financial management, governance, and commercial matters can play a crucial role in the organisation's growth and financial stability.
Erika Moralez-Perez
Company Secretary
Erika is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer, specialising in business transactions, contracts, and data protection. Prior to her legal career, she spent a decade in commercial management with leading IT companies including Microsoft, Samsung, and Hewlett-Packard. Erika has a proven track record in identifying opportunities and mitigating risk for her clients, with a particular focus on privacy and GDPR compliance. She's highly regarded for her personable approach and dedication to understanding her clients' unique business needs.
Elaine Coleridge Smith
Trustee
Elaine Coleridge Smith, a trustee with a health background, is joining Rennie Grove Peace Hospice with a special interest in safeguarding and clinical governance. Previously, Elaine was the first Director of Nursing at IRHH, and after her tenure there, she became a Trustee while working for Macmillan Cancer Care. She also spent six years as AD for Child, Family, and Adult Specialist Services at Buckinghamshire PCT, where she held the lead for safeguarding children and young people. Elaine currently works part-time as an Independent Chair for Warwickshire Safeguarding Board, ensuring effective safeguarding services for children and vulnerable adults. Elaine lives in Chalfont St Giles with her family and enjoys spending time with her grandson, traveling, and indulging in good food and wine.
Martin Ferguson
Trustee
For the past two decades, Martin has played a key role in the digitalisation of public services in the UK. He currently holds the position of Director of Policy & Research at Socitm, a professional association for digital leaders. Martin has worked in local government across various sectors, including planning, housing, leisure and recreation, IT and information services.
Alan Graham MBE
Trustee
Alan Graham has been a trustee of Rennie Grove Peace (formerly Peace Hospice Care) since 2017. He brings over 40 years of experience in the financial sector in the UK, Europe, North America, and South East Asia, having retired as a main board director of Rothschilds Bank in 2004. Alan now holds several non-executive and trustee roles in the public, private, and voluntary sectors, including the Motor Neurone Disease Association and The Masonic Charitable Foundation. He has chaired risk and audit committees for various organisations, including The Parliamentary & Health Service Ombudsman and The Insolvency Service. In 2011, Alan was awarded an MBE in recognition of his services to the voluntary sector.
Steve Hamill
Trustee
Steve worked at Shell for 34 years in various roles including software development, project management, audit, and general management, with his final position being managing global strategic relationships with major technology and communications companies. After retiring in 2008, Steve held voluntary positions such as providing technical support for the London Paralympics, serving as a Director for the St Albans International Organ Festival, and acting as an IT Auditor/Technology Advisor for Rennie Grove. In 2019, Steve was delighted to join the board where he can continue his passion for supporting others
Seema Hill
Trustee
Seema has over 25 years' experience as a Business Consultant working across multiple sectors including retail, financial services, automotive, IT and telco.
Her focus has been on the development of internal and external engagement solutions for UK and international clients with the aim of improving organisational performance.
Joanne Langfield
Trustee
Joanne Langfield started her career in nursing and went on to work in a number of operational and commissioning posts. This has included being the Service Director for Meadow House Hospice in Ealing, Accountable Officer for Greenwich CCG and London Regional Director of Specialized Commissioning and Health in the Justice Service. Previous voluntary work has included being a school governor, a Brown Owl and a trustee for a Housing Charity. Since retiring Joanne has become a trustee and now chair of a local Scanner Centre Charity (Paul Strickland based at Mt Vernon hospital site) and a now clinical trustee for Rennie Grove Peace. She has MSCs in both health economics and finance and in health care commissioning.
Julie Morosco
Trustee
Following a corporate career as an HR Director, Julie works as a Coach and Mentor in the areas of Leadership, Career Change and Relationship Transitions working with organisations and individuals. Board advisory roles have included membership of the Remuneration Committees of privately owned businesses and an established UK university. She has lived in Buckinghamshire for over 25 years.
Richard Russell-Hogg
Trustee
Richard’s aspirations to support his local community encouraged him to become a trustee both with Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care and Aspire Academies Trust. Richard is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA CGMA) and has years of experience in business management, finance, strategy development and deployment, with the last 15 years spent at Prism Power Group where he currently sits as Finance Director.
Dr Alie Wainwright
Trustee
Alie has been a GP at Rothschild House in Tring for the past 34 years and can recall the early days of the former Rennie Grove (now Rennie Grove Peace) when it was a small fledgling organisation with a revolutionary way of caring for the terminally ill. She is delighted to see the expansion which will offer patients a full range of care.
