We are incredibly proud that our fantastic Patron, Luther Blissett, was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee birthday honours. Luther’s ongoing dedication and tireless work supporting our local community makes a huge difference to so many people and he is most deserving of this recognition.
We are truly grateful to be just one of the charities who receive such amazing support from Luther. Luther became a Patron of Peace Hospice Care in 2019, first connecting with us since playing for Watford FC under Graham Taylor, whose own dedication to the importance of connecting with the local community had a huge impact on us and so many other organisations.
Luther has attended and taken part in many of our fundraising events – including Lights of Love, our Golf Days, Black Tie Dinners, FireWalk and running the London Marathon for us in 2006. He has arranged for generous donations to be delivered to the Hospice for patients and staff, particularly during lockdown, taken time to visit our patients on many occasions to chat and reminisce about Watford FC memories, and even judged our office decorating competition last Christmas! Always available at short notice, and always committed to doing all he can to support us.
Congratulations to Luther Blissett OBE DL – and thank you so much for all you do.
