St Albans City Women’s Institute has chosen us as its charity of the year for 2022. Each year the group raises funds for a local good cause, chosen by its members, and this year they have picked Rennie Grove.
The St Albans WI’s monthly meetings include both educational and fundraising events. This year, for instance, there’ll be a special social event to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
With demand for our round-the-clock specialist nursing care and support services, continuing to rise, the backing of businesses, individuals and organisations, like the WI, is ever more vital.
We need £8.1 million a year to fund our services which are provided at no cost to patients or their families – that’s the equivalent of £20,000 every day, with almost 90% coming from the local community.
One of the ways we aim to get our fundraising message across is through our network of Ambassadors. Gemma Ralph, senior community fundraiser, explains: “Our Ambassadors are volunteers who are keen to help us tell the community about the work we do.”
“We rely so much on the generosity of individuals and groups to fund our services for the local community. Charity-of-the-year partnerships like this one with St Albans WI are brilliant because that year-long commitment means we can reach more families who need us now and plan with confidence to support those who will need us in the future.”
Groups, clubs, companies and schools can book an Ambassador to talk about the work we do at Rennie Grove, tailored to the audience, setting and time available. The presentations can support aspects of the school curriculum or explain to companies and groups about our work.
If you are looking for a charity-of the-year partner we would love to hear from you.
