Can you donate your time to keep our shops in top condition?

Volunteers in this role help to keep our shops in top condition by carrying out general maintenance and small repairs.  You may be supporting just one shop or a group of shops in your local area, to help reduce the cost of employing professional trades companies.

Ideally, you’d be able to give half a day a week or as required helping with a range of minor DIY and maintenance tasks in shops.

We are particularly looking for caretakers at the following shops:

  • Borehamwood
  • Bourne End
  • Bushey
  • Chorleywood
  • Flackwell Heath
  • Holmer Green
  • Radlett
  • Rickmansworth
  • St Albans – Fleetville (Hatfield Road)

"I volunteer as the caretaker for my two local shops in St Albans. When the shop manager has some maintenance or DIY tasks that need doing, they can call on me to save the charity paying for costly repairs. I'm retired from a career in the building industry so I've got the time to do it and the skills to turn my hands to most maintenance tasks!"
