A Chesham-based property maintenance company is giving Rennie Grove’s fund raising efforts a double boost.
R Benson is sponsoring this year’s Chiltern 3 peaks challenge and a strong team of the company’s employees is taking part in the sponsored walk.
Accompanied by relatives and canine companions a contingent of 20 Benson’s employees will be lining up on the start line at Princes Risborough school.
R Benson director Marcus Neal explains. “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge this year. As part of our commitment to give back to the communities we work in, we aim to support a number of events each year.
“Many of our colleagues have first hand experience of the amazing work that hospices do, so we really wanted to support our local hospice service this year. Rennie Grove provides invaluable support to adults and children in the local area who have life-limiting illness. We are proud to be supporting its flagship fund raising event.”
The Chilterns 3 Peak challenger offers entrants options of walking between 6.5 and 18 miles. The team, a mixture of keen walkers and novices, is aiming to raise £1,500.
Charmain Cox, Benson’s senior commercial administrator, has signed up for the 6.5 mile route. “I decided to join the team as it’s such a great cause. My aunt and friend were both supported by Rennie Grove and it made such a huge difference to us all.
Charmain confesses the 3 Peaks challenge is slightly different from her usual beat. “I’m not usually a walker – I don’t really enjoy walking unless I’m shopping or at a theme park – but have signed up for the 6.5 mile route to really challenge myself. I wouldn’t usually cover this distance in one go so I’m hoping my friends and family will sponsor me generously.”
