Warner’s End shop becomes charity hub

Rennie Grove has opened its first community hub shop in a move designed to underline the importance of local support to its vital retail operation.

The new look is part of the renovation work at our Warner’s End shop which, as well as providing a fresh, modern feel to the retail space, now also includes a new community notice board to allow staff and volunteers to share messages with customers.

“The Warner’s End shop has long been a hub of the community from its position on Stoneycroft. The shop is so well supported we knew this was the perfect site to unveil our first community hub,” according to Nicola Flood, our merchandising and business development manager.

Rennie Grove’s network of 26 shops raises more than £3m a year to support our work across Buckinghamshire and West Hertfordshire and is hugely reliant on local support, a point underlined by Nicola.

“We couldn’t run our charity shops without local people who donate goods, volunteer their time and shop there. We wanted to bring to life how much this support means to us and give the community of Warner’s End a shop that is fit for the future.”

The shop was closed for two weeks for the renovation work to take place; with the new space carrying our trademark purple and muted lilac colours and using recycled units to emphasise the reuse and recycling that is core to the charity shop’s purpose.

Long time volunteer Louise Bloomfield said: “This shop really is a community hub. In my time volunteering here, I have come to know a lot of the customers who visit regularly, both to donate and shop. The newly renovated shop is a welcoming space that local people can meet and shop in. I know it will be very popular with our customers and I’m proud to be a volunteer here.”
