From Nov 2023 to Jan 2024, our Community Engagement team have continued to meet with groups and organisations in our local community, forming important connections and discussing ways in which we can work together. The team had over 60 meeting and events in this period and engaged with over 700 people to raise awareness around Hospice Care, volunteering and our Compassionate Communities project.
The types of events are as follows:
- Finalised the partnership work and launched 5 new Compassionate Cafes in the St Albans area
- Worked with the St Albans Old People’s Network to help with the launch of 5 new Compassionate Cafes
- Attended the Borehamwood Communities 1st Blood Pressure & Cardio event
- Join in with Watford Celebration, which celebrates the diversity of our communities
- Attended the OPALS event Elstree & Borehamwood
- Delivered the Diwali celebration at the patients group at Peace Hospice with SAHA/One Vision
- Visited groups like the Wednesday Group in Borehamwood
- Provided wellbeing activities like Tai Chi & Yoga at the Compassionate Cafes and Support Hubs
- Delivered the Winter Social for Compassionate Communities volunteers and their Community members in January
- Provided training to partner volunteers to launch Compassionate Cafés at Random Café and Great Missenden Library
