Two new charity shops for Rickmansworth

We are delighted to announce not one, but two, new charity shops in the Rickmansworth area. The first of the two shops opened on Rickmansworth High Street on Tuesday 19th December, with a further shop expected to open on Money Hill Parade in the new year.

The High Street shop was opened by Dr Jeremy Shindler, chair of trustees at Rennie Grove Peace, who cut the ribbon in front of a crowd of locals who were keen for their first look inside the new branch.

The shop, the 33
rd in our portfolio, is one of our community hub branches. The shop is designed to be a focal point for the local community to donate, shop and volunteer.

The ethos of all of our shops is guided by our mantra ‘recare, rewear and rehome’ which extends beyond the goods on sale and includes the fixtures and fittings of the store. Items such as rails, shelves and the cash desk were reused from other shops to align with the charity’s sustainability ambitions.

Work is also underway on a new shop on Money Hill Parade. This new branch will be our 34th shop and our first community superstore. The large unit will offer us flexibility in the type and range of products that can be stocked, as well as the way the retail space can be used throughout the year.

Deborah Gould, Director of Retail & Trading at Rennie Grove Peace, said:

“We’re delighted to be bringing two new shops to Rickmansworth. The local community here has always been very generous in donating both their goods and their time to our charity shops and we’re pleased to be able to recognise this by opening two new branches.

“It’s very exciting to be launching a brand-new Rennie Grove Peace concept in the area with our first community superstore. We look forward to welcoming shoppers in the new year to shop quality second-hand goods while raising vital funds to support hospice care in the area.

“We always need donations of goods to sell and volunteers to generously give up their time to staff our shops. With these new openings come lots of new opportunities and we’d love to hear from anybody in the local community who would be interested in volunteering their time to join us in these new ventures.”
