The Taylor Trek is back for 2024! Be part of the legacy…
Organised by Watford Community Sports & Education Trust and kindly sponsored by Mercer & Hole, come along on Sunday 13th October as trekkers look to take on three routes across Watford and the surrounding areas. The walk will take participants on an inspiring journey through the key sites of Graham Taylor’s Hornets history, whilst raising vital funds for two charities close to his heart.
Graham Taylor was not only Manager for Watford Football Club, he also dedicated a lot of his time to the local community and encouraged the players to do so to. Graham was a Patron of Watford Peace Hospice for many years and we are excited to reconnect with the football club and honour Graham Taylor and his legacy.
Route options
The Trek will have three route options, so that you can pick a distance that suits you:
Family route: This route is an accessible 3.5 miles and is ideal for all the family (including well behaved pets!)
Medium route: At 8.3 miles, this route is best for those who want to get some exercise and grab some history along the way.
Challenge route: At just over 18 miles, this is your chance to challenge yourself whilst passing all the key sites of Graham Taylor’s Hornets history.
The walk will finish at Watford Football Club where medals will be be handed out to participants by family members of Graham Taylor.
Fundraising
The minimum fundraising requirement is the registration fee, but we are encouraging people to fundraise and ask their friends and family to sponsor them, you can keep track of your fundraising on Enthuse (where you will be registering your place). Once you have registered you should be able to send your friends and family the link to which they can donate to.
To sign up for the Taylor Trek it costs £25 for an adult, £10 for a child, £40 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children), £200 for a group booking of 10, and for Junior Hornets it is £5
The money raised from the event will be split evenly between the two charities.
