Gill has been involved with the charity since its start, helping, with others, to drive fundraising and local support for saving the Peace Memorial Hospital site and, subsequently, its use as a Hospice. From those early days of helping to run the campaign, based in our Watford shop at the lower end of the High Street, and the establishment of a temporary Day Care centre in a porta cabin on the Hospital site to today, Gill has played a key role in supporting, advising and guiding the charity.
Speaking about Gill’s contribution, Declan Carroll, CEO of Peace Hospice Care, said: “We are so grateful to everyone who supports us and our patrons play an important role in helping us to spread the word about our services and their impact. I’m delighted that Gill is going to remain so involved in our work. She is so committed to the charity and brings so much experience, insight and scrutiny. But, more than anything, she really cares about what we stand for, and our ambition to help more people in our community, and I see that in every conversation we have.”
