What is Make Your Will Month?
Make Your Wills Month takes place in May. Make Your Will Month gives you the opportunity to have a Will written by a local participating solicitor. Instead of charging their usual fee, they give you the opportunity to donate to Rennie Grove Peace. Did you know that around 6 people in every 10 die without a Will?
Having an up-to-date Will is vital for several reasons. If you pass away without one, you won’t have any control over who receives your assets or who cares for your dependents. Additionally, putting all your wishes in writing can offer significant peace of mind, and most importantly, a Will ensures that your loved ones will be cared for when you’re no longer here to do so.
During Make Your Will Month each May, we partner with local solicitors to offer you the chance to make a difference. When you book an appointment in May, to make or update your Will, participating solicitors waive their basic Will-writing fees. And instead of paying them, they ask you to donate to Rennie Grove or Peace Hospice Care.
We suggest £175 for an individual Will, or £275 for a pair of mirror Wills.
If your circumstances are more complicated, requiring something more detailed than a basic Will, your solicitor will advise. You can discuss what you want with the experts and agree any additional fees.
It’s completely your choice as to whether you wish to leave a gift. If, once you’ve taken care of your loved ones, you feel able to leave a gift to Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care, that would be amazing. Your solicitor can advise you about this, and you can speak to our Gifts in Wills team too. Gifts in Wills can make a huge difference to local families for generations to come. Charitable gifts in Wills can also help reduce the amount of inheritance tax you may have to pay.
